London Trip – Terminale BFI

Category
Infos

Our Terminale BFI students from the Lycée Français de Barcelone have just returned from an exceptional study trip to London (Feb 5th to Feb 7th), dedicated to Shakespeare and the cultural, historical and academic richness of the city.

At the heart of the programme was a visit to the iconic Globe Theatre, where students took part in a workshop on Hamlet, bringing their classroom study to life in the very place where Shakespeare’s work continues to resonate. Experiencing the play in this context gave real depth and immediacy to their literary analysis.

The trip also offered a broader exploration of London’s history and global influence. At the Museum of London Docklands, students examined the city’s development and its role in world trade, while the Churchill War Rooms provided a powerful insight into Britain during the Second World War.

🧭 Looking ahead to their future studies, students visited The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Université Paris Dauphine – PSL London Campus and New York University London, gaining valuable exposure to international higher education environments and broadening their perspectives on post-baccalaureate pathways.

🥋 Art history was another key dimension of the trip. With Gemma Amorós, students explored representations of heroes and villains during a workshop at the National Gallery London, and continued their reflections through visits to the National Portrait Gallery and the Tate Modern, engaging with works spanning centuries of artistic expression.

Beyond the academic content, what stood out most was the attitude of our students. Curious, thoughtful, engaged and impeccably behaved throughout, they were a true credit to the BFI programme and to our school, Lycée Français de Barcelone.

An inspiring few days that perfectly reflect the ambition and spirit of the BFI: intellectual curiosity, cultural openness and academic excellence.
